IFLA Europe Youth Competition

The IFLA Europe Youth Competition offers landscape architecture students and young professionals a unique European platform to showcase innovative ideas, experimental projects, and forward-looking visions that respond to today’s environmental, social, and urban challenges. By bringing together emerging talent from across Europe, the competition promotes excellence in landscape architecture, encourages cross-border exchange, and strengthens the professional community, while giving participants visibility, recognition, and a valuable addition to their portfolio and career development.

Who Can Participate?

Participation is open for those who meet the following conditions:

  • Is a citizen/works/studies in one of the Council of Europe member states (see also next chapter on this website).
  • Is a member of a National Association that is an IFLA Europe member (see also Special Notes below).

Specific for Students:

  • Is enrolled in a Landscape Architecture programme.
  • Can provide proof (student card / university certificate).

Specific for Young professionals:

  • Is under 40 years old.
  • Works as Landscape Architect.
  • Can provide proof of employment.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • For Germany, membership in BAK or BDLA is accepted, both for students as young professionals.
  • Membership of a National Association (NA) is not required for students and young professionals from CoE-countries that have no NA that is IFLA Europe member.
  • Membership of an NA is also not required for students and young professionals from CoE-countries with an NA that doesn’t accept students as their members.

Accepted Nationalities

Participants may originate from Council of Europe member states (partly IFLA Europe members).

IFLA Europe members:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

Non-members:

Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Georgia, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, San Marino.

How to Apply

Register via the form you can find by clicking the button below. Upload all required documents.

Applicants must upload the following 4 documents:

  2. Application Form + Declaration + Proof of eligibility (one single PDF)
  3. Executive Summary (PDF)
  4. Images (JPG/PNG)
