General Assembly
The General Assembly (GA) is the governing body of IFLA Europe and is regulated by statutes and bylaws.
The General Assembly comprises:
- The Executive Council.
- The representative of each Effective Member (has the right to attend, participate and vote).
- The president of each Effective Member (has the right to attend, participate and vote).
- The representatives or individuals of the other membership categories (Interim Members, Individual Members, Honorary Members and Observers have the right to attend the GA but do not have the right to vote).
The General Assembly meets at least once a year.
Executive Council (ExCo)
IFLA Europe is administered by an Executive Council (ExCo) elected by the General Assembly. The ExCo comprise a minimum of six officers whose term of office lasts a minimum period of two years.
The current ExCo is composed as follows:

Boards (BoA and BoT)
IFLA Europe has two boards that support the organisation.
The Board of Auditors (BoA) annually audits the final/estimate accounts for the previous/current financial year and present the ExCo their assessments via written electronic documents.The current members are:
- Ann Voets, representative of BALA.
- Niek Hazendonk, representative of NVTL.
- Carolin Göhler, representative of Landscape Institute.
The Board of Trustees (BoT) performs the strict observance of the Statutes and Regulations, the continued fulfilment of membership requirements, and the compliance with all resolutions of the GA and ExCo by all member Associations. The current members are:

Committees
In order to achieve the IFLA Europe aims and objectives the ExCo avails itself of the collaboration of the following Committees:
- Education Committee, to be chaired by the Vice-president ‘Education’.
- Professional Practice Committee, to be chaired by the Vice-president ‘Professional Practice’.
- Communications Committee, to be chaired by the Vice-president ‘Communications’.
- Financial, Administrative and Sponsorship Committee, to be chaired by the Treasurer.
All Committees meet once a year on the occasion of the General Assembly in order to:
- Assess the results achieved during the previous year.
- Establish the main objectives for the future.
- Outline the IFLA Europe ‘Strategic and Action Plan’ for the forthcoming year, concerning the specific fields of interest.
Working Groups
IFLA Europe Working Groups are constituted to work on one or more specific projects, surveys and/or actions initiated by one of the IFLA Europe Committees. Those projects, surveys and/or actions have a clear start and endpoint in time.
Staff
The staff of IFLA Europe provide essential operational support to the General Assembly and the Executive Council. They coordinate policy engagement, manage projects, meetings and events, maintain stakeholder relations, and take care of the financial administration. They are our reliable, professional backbone that turns the organisation’s vision into measurable outcomes.
The current staff consists of the following people:
