Sub‑regional networks function as geographically or contextually focused collaboration between National Associations, that strengthen cooperation among member organisations and professionals who share a common regional context.
These networks exist to address region‑specific landscape challenges, conditions, and opportunities, for example those related to climate, geography, policy frameworks, or cultural landscapes.
Sub‑regions primarily fulfil a facilitative and connective role. They bring together national associations, professionals, educators, and researchers from a shared sub‑region, enabling knowledge exchange, peer learning, dialogue, and joint initiatives that benefit from operating at a regional scale. Typical activities include thematic discussions, workshops, networking, and contributions to broader IFLA Europe initiatives.
Med_net
Med_net brings together countries bordering the Mediterranean or that share its climatic and environmental characteristics. It was created in 2017 with the objective to raise awareness about the common issues and highlight the work of landscape architects in addressing those issues with nature based solutions.
Baltic Sea Region Landscape Architecture Group (BSRLA)
Baltic Sea Region Landscape Architecture Group (BSRLA) is a professional regional network established in January 2017 in Vilnius. It connects landscape architecture associations and practitioners across countries surrounding the Baltic Sea—including Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, and neighboring Nordic-Baltic regions.
Nordic Board
The Nordic Board functions as a regional cooperative forum and network for Scandinavian and Nordic landscape architectural associations.
