John Weier (Luxembourg) is a pioneering landscape architect whose career has been closely linked to the development of landscape architecture and spatial planning in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. As one of the profession’s early practitioners in the country, he contributed significantly to establishing landscape architecture as an integral part of urban development, environmental planning, and public space design.

In 1971, together with Lilo Weier-de Haas, he founded a landscape architecture and planning practice in Luxembourg that became known for its work in landscape design, urban planning, and environmental studies. Through numerous public and private projects, the practice promoted sustainable and people-centred approaches to the design and management of outdoor spaces.

Beyond his professional practice, John Weier actively supported the development of the landscape architecture profession at both national and European levels. He was involved in international exchanges and professional cooperation within the European landscape architecture community, contributing to the strengthening of professional networks and the recognition of landscape architecture across Europe.
