Carlo Bruschi  (Italy) is an architect, urban planner, landscape architect and conservator of architectural and environmental heritage. Throughout a career spanning more than four decades, he has made significant contributions to the advancement of landscape architecture in Italy and across Europe.

After graduating in Architecture from Sapienza University of Rome in 1973, Carlo established himself as a respected practitioner, working on a wide range of landscape architecture projects for public and private clients. His portfolio includes parks and gardens, residential developments, educational campuses, tourism and hospitality projects, transport infrastructure, industrial sites, military facilities, utility landscapes, and environmental restoration projects throughout Italy and internationally.

Alongside his professional practice, Carlo has played a leading role in the development of the landscape architecture profession. He served as Vice-President (1988–1997) and later President (2000–2006) of the Italian Association of Landscape Architecture (AIAPP), where he actively promoted professional standards, education, and public awareness of the value of landscape. He also contributed to numerous governmental committees, research initiatives, design juries, and policy platforms dedicated to landscape quality, heritage conservation, and environmental planning.

At the European level, Carlo was among the early members of the European Foundation for Landscape Architecture (EFLA), joining in 1989. He subsequently served as Vice-President for Professional Practice of EFLA and later IFLA Europe (2010–2014), before becoming Chair of the IFLA Professional Practice & Policy Committee (2014–2016). Since 2016, he has continued to support the organisation as a Statutory Advisor to IFLA Europe.

A passionate educator, Carlo has lectured extensively at universities, professional institutes, and training organisations across Italy, inspiring generations of students and practitioners. His commitment to knowledge sharing is further reflected in his numerous publications, articles, and essays on landscape architecture, planning, and heritage conservation.

Through his professional achievements, leadership within AIAPP, IFLA and IFLA Europe, and lifelong dedication to landscape architecture education and advocacy, Carlo Bruschi has made an enduring contribution to the profession.
