Teresa Andresen (Portugal) is a distinguished landscape architect, educator, and researcher whose work has significantly advanced landscape architecture, environmental planning, and landscape ecology in Portugal and across Europe. Trained in both Agronomy and Landscape Architecture at the Technical University of Lisbon, she furthered her studies internationally, earning a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts (USA) in 1984 and a PhD in Sciences Applied to the Environment from the University of Aveiro in 1992.

Throughout her career, Teresa has combined academic excellence with professional leadership. Since 2002, she has served as Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Porto, where she has contributed to the education of future generations of landscape architects and researchers. Her teaching and research have focused on landscape ecology, landscape planning, cultural landscapes, nature conservation, and the history of landscape architecture.

Teresa’s research and professional work have addressed some of the most pressing environmental and spatial challenges of our time. Her projects include the development of ecological networks within metropolitan regions, the planning and management of cultural landscapes, environmental impact assessments, and the preparation of management plans for protected areas and coastal zones.
